Milton Glaser

Milton Glaser is one of the greatest graphic designers of all time. He has won countless awards and has had an array of one-man shows. He is deemed a rare-breed of intellectual designer-illustaors.  His diverse richness of visual language makes him stand out above the rest. Glaser has been an active member of both the design and education communities from the start. He has been an instructor and a Board Member at the School of Visual Arts since 1961, and is on the Board of Directors at The Cooper Union. His love and dedication for the arts is evident in his involvement and work. His portrait of Aretha Franklin was displayed at the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery after she passed. The portrait has been described as having ” an electricity, a pulsating rhythm, that you can just imagine that her voice had,” this is just one example of how Milton Glaser evoke emotions through his shapes and messaging.
